FAQ's

1. Click the ‘I've lost an item’ button on the Foundspot homepage.

2. Follow the 4 simple registration steps, stating what you've lost, when and where, and providing your contact details so we can notify you. The more details you provide, the easier it will be to locate your item.

3. If your item is found by LEVEL staff, it will be sent to the lost property office and registered on Foundspot, so the system will detect a match with your lost item and send you an email for you to confirm and arrange for it to be sent home.

The time it takes to locate an item before you receive a match notification can range from 1–2 days to several weeks.

It can take several days from the moment LEVEL staff collect lost property from an aircraft anywhere in the world until it arrives at the Central Lost Property Office in Barcelona, where it is then registered on Foundspot.

Once you have received your match notification email and confirmed the match with the item, click the ‘Proceed to dispatch’ button, fill in the dispatch form, complete the payment by card, and your item will be sent to the postal address you provide.

All items left behind on flights are collected and sent to the central lost property office, located in a restricted-access area at Barcelona Airport. It is not possible to collect items in person, so delivery by courier is mandatory.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your parcel’s tracking number so that you can check its location at any time.

The cost of delivery depends on the delivery destination. Once you have completed the delivery form, you can view the delivery and handling charges in the ‘Delivery Summary’.

NOTE: Any import costs that may be imposed by the customs authorities of certain countries are NOT included in the payment made via Foundspot, as these are not shipping costs but import duties levied by their governments. We recommend that you check for any potential additional costs to avoid any surprises once the shipment has been dispatched.

We recommend that you check whether the item you are sending home is subject to any import restrictions or duties in the destination country.

Electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops are often prone to issues at customs, as are other types of goods depending on the country.

If you have any doubts and wish to avoid additional costs, please check the additional charges at the destination customs office.

You can track your parcel using the tracking tool and the tracking link you received by email once your dispatch request has been successfully completed.

The information available regarding the status of your parcel is provided by the courier responsible for that particular delivery.

The transit time from LEVEL’s Central Lost Property Office in Barcelona to the delivery address varies depending on the destination.

The transit days are displayed in the “shipment summary” window once the shipment form has been completed.

- In addition to the transit times indicated, please allow 1–2 days for processing at LEVEL’s Central Lost Property Office, which operates during standard working hours from Monday to Friday.

- Customs clearance times are not included in the transit time, as these depend on the customs procedures of each destination country.

It usually takes between 1 day and 2 or 3 weeks for items to reach the Central Lost Property Office, where all arrangements for locating and returning them are made.

For some flights departing from Barcelona, or for any other reason, there may be cases where items arrive at the Lost Property Office after this period and take longer to process. Therefore, there is still a chance of recovering your belongings after this time. However, after two months, unresolved lost property searches are closed definitively and unclaimed found items are donated.

The collection of items left behind on aircraft, as well as their transport, storage, return management and dispatch, are all tasks carried out entirely by authorised LEVEL staff.

The company Foundspot provides LEVEL with its automation platform, which optimises and streamlines the processes for returning lost property. Foundspot provides technical support to LEVEL in the event of any incidents that may arise.

IMPORTANT: You will only receive a notification if there is a match for your lost item.

We recommend you follow these steps:

1. Check your Spam or Junk folder: Sometimes, emails may be automatically filtered as spam.

2. Be patient: Make sure you have waited for the time specified in the ‘How it works’ section to receive the match notification email. The process of searching for and matching lost items can take some time, depending on the availability and workload of the team responsible.
